U10 News and Updates

Parents –

Just a reminder that we are in the need of volunteers to fill the time keeper, scoreboard and penalty boxes at home games. Please visit the bulletin board at the Faribault Ice Arena to sign up. It is our goal to have each family sign up for a minimum of two shifts this season.

In addition, please sign up for a turn to bring treats for the girls after our games. It is a nice gesture to recognize their efforts and the girls truly appreciate having a snack after each game.

Faribault Girls In-House Tournament

Team –

The Faribault Girls Tournament is scheduled for December 5, 6 and 7, 2008. Below you will find an attachment outlining the game schedule.

Please remember the following:

q Each family is expected to volunteer to help cover various stations throughout the tournament. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the arena in the near future. It is your responsibility to sign up for shifts, but remember if you don’t sign up, we will sign up for you! Everyone needs to do their part to make the tournament a success!

q This year there will not be entrance fees for spectators. Rather, each team has paid a gate fee to cover the expense. Encourage friend and family to come watch the girls FREE OF CHARGE J

q A number of U-10 mothers have been working on putting together decorations and gift bags for all the skaters participating in the tournament. However, there is still more work to be done! As soon as the rosters are released, we will need lots of help writing the skater’s names on the decorations and putting the gift bags together. It is our goal to do as much as we can during the upcoming practices. Please contact Kim Burkhartzmeyer at kburkhartzmeyer@abc-companies.com if you are able to help with our efforts. Remember, you can count the time towards your volunteer hours!

U10B Tilt A Whirl Tourney

St. Cloud Tournament

Team –

As I have mentioned in previous communications, we are booked in the St. Cloud U10B tournament scheduled for January 30 – February 1^st. I have booked a block of rooms at the St. Cloud Holiday Inn. Attached you will find a flyer which will provide you with information on the hotel and how to make your reservations. They will only hold the block of rooms through December 30^th. After that time, they will release the rooms, so please make sure you have your reservations secured before December 30^th. When making your reservations, refer to “Faribault Girls Hockey”.

The cost of the tournament will be $56.70 per skater. This fee includes the tournament entry fee as well as the team gate fee. This year many tournaments are charging a gate fee per team in lieu of individual admission charges per spectator. I will collect the payments from each family to reimburse the FHA. Payments must be received by December 1^st.
