ROCHESTER GETS BY B'S

11/21/08

By Randy Schmidt

Rochester took no time getting the B's uncomfortable at their home.  It was minutes into the game and Rochester netted a 2-0 lead.  It was 7 goals later and a lesson learned that got the B's wondering.

There were several chances to put a goal on the scoreboard.  The B's found themselves having to find other ways to get shots on net, as Rochester played strong defense and moved the puck fluidly.

After three periods the B's skated away exhausted and feeling the 9-0 sting.  Coaches rallied them in the locker room pointing out they allowed much fewer shots, and gave themselves several chances to notch goals.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME:

Captain Paul Froelich lead the team in shots, and anchored the forward lines during several line changes.

Trevor Vos anchored the strong skating defense, and was instrumental in helping eliminate shots on goals, by skating the puck out and getting in front of opponents.

11/16/08

By Randy Schmidt

The B's came out strong in the 1st period, adding two quick goals.  The first from Captain Paul Froelich, with a scramble in front of the net, Paul sank the puck and gave the B's a 1-0 lead.  It was minutes later that Austin Andreas skated up and around several players to pick his shot and send it to the back of the net.  A strong pass from the versatile Jake Battles, sent Austin skating up ice to get the 2-0 lead.

Bad bounces and capitalizing on all opportunities, Albert Lea picked away at the lead and held a 4-2 lead starting the 3rd period.  After an early goal in the 3rd the lead went to 5-2, however the B's never let up.  Grant Selly froze many players on his way to back to back breakaways, however it was the hot gloved goaltender for Albert Lea that made the difference.

However there were several chances to score and the end to end opportunities were there for the B's. It would take mid-way through the 3rd Period before quick skatin' Cullen Paulson netted the only tally for the B Squad.

Northfield a true B team was needing to skate hard throughout, as the B2's continued to skate hard until games end. After the final period it was Northfield that skated off the winners.
