Mite White vs Farmington #2

Mite White had a big job on their hands today to end 2007.  Farmington came to town bright and early and boy were they ready.  But, so were the Whites.  Brett scored the first goal for the team and added his 2nd later in the game.  Henry contributed a goal of his own in this hard faught battle.  Adam, Jaymeson, Gage, Mikal and Austin all took the puck to the Farmington goalie only to be denied.  With on exclusions to the talent on this team, Jason, Sam G, Sam J and Mclean all had helping sticks to find the puck to score more goals.  And of course, we won't forget our goalie,---Great job!!!  (I wonder of the Farmington goalie thought he was seeing triple).  All-in-all team---SUPER JOB.

2008,  HERE THEY COME!!

White vs Farmington #3

2008 had a bit of a rough start for our guys.  Farmington came in to town.  Sorry guys, I didn't have a pen on me to write down who scored the goals for us, but what I did notice, was the Hofstad guys play pretty well together.  They are definately looking for one another to pass the puck to and Jaymeson was a go getter.  He went racing for the puck and then raced to the other end to try to keep it in our zone.  Austin was in the net, but I think he forgot at times where he was.  He wanted to get the puck when it went into the corners of ice instead of protecting his net.  Remember guys, no one is a loser.  You are all winners in my book.  Good job today and tomorrow is another day with another team.  Go get 'em in Waseca!!!

White vs Waseca

Our very first road trip of the hockey season sure proved to be exciting.  Waseca looked like they were going to dominate, but once the team got going, they came right back.  Everything started with Mikal, Gage, and Carl scoring 3 goals to get caught up with Waseca.  From then on, it was a back and forth battle.  Brett and Henry added goals later in the game as well.  Sam J. did a super job in the net for us.  He was not afraid to take pucks up high.  Someone had a great shot---some say it was a Waseca player trying to pass the puck to one of their team mates and missed, but a goal was scored for us by a single shot from one end of the rink right into the Waseca net.  Sign that kid up!!!

White vs Northfield Maroon

Good game today guys!  All three lines worked hard with alot of scoring, take-a-ways and yes, even some break-a-ways.  Sam J once again did a great job blocking the net.  He didn't see a lot of action, but what he did get, he blocked well.  Keep up the skills guys and remember, you are a team and need to work as one each and everytime you are out on the ice.  There are five of you out there on each line.

Again guys, good job today and lets see what you can do with New Prague tomorrow.

White vs New Prague White

Okay guys, I'm not going to say too much about this game.  It was good to see you all out there applying the skills the coaches have been teaching you.  Just about everyone scored a goal and you all skated very hard.  There was some nice puck passing going on which was good to see and I also noticed the centers learning how to handle face off by holding the stick differently than when normal play is going on.  Good job team.

White vs Waseca

What a great game to watch.  This was a good match up for you guys.  Everyone played hard and good team work.  It was nice to see the lines mixed up a bit and some of you playing defense instead of offensive and vice versa.  Adam did a super job in the net.  Jaymeson gave that last second effort to get the puck out of the zone.  He was down on the ice and still took his stick to swipe it away.  Good job Jaymeson.  Once again, the Hofstads did wonderful on puck passing and playing together.  Austin scored a goal, Brett had some good break-aways.  Everyone did a subperb job and again, it was alot of fun to watch.

White vs Northfield Maroon

Okay guys, here we are at the end of your season and I must say, there has been a lot of improvement from everyone!  Both teams scored goals, great puck passing, defense playing where they should, etc.  Overall, everyone looks good.  The one player I am impressed with is Alex Walsh.  Keep up the great work and lets all have fun during the Mite Jamboree in New Prague on the 29th-30th.

Mite Jamboree - Saturday

Wow, what a day!  I am continually impressed by the play of everyone.  This is the first time you guys have had to play 2 games in one day with only a couple hours rest.  The first game against Mankato was totally awesome.  Adam, no matter what you think, you did a superb job blocking shots.  You had a lot of them come at you.  As far as the rest of you go, you are really maturing into a team---passing, staying on your side of the rink and knowing where you should be where the puck is.  The second game against New Prague was the same way, however, it started to show how tired you guys were.  Well now we are home, get some sleep, eat a good breakfast and a lite lunch and we will see you back in New Prague for the 5:10 game.  Until then, eat, think and sleep hockey!!

Mite Jamboree - Sunday

Here we are guys, done with the season.  I just want to end my write up series with a final note that applies to each and everyone of you.  This has been one of the best seasons for myself and my family.  We have truly met alot of new faces--players, parents, and friends who really understand what this level of hockey playing means.  Mikal, Henry and Gage we will miss you and your family March 8, but be assured you will not be forgotten.  Thank you for helping and encouraging your team mates.  You three are definately special.  Cade, we will miss you also on the 8th.  It has been great to watch you develop into a great team mate also.  Best of luck next season.

To the rest of the team who will join the festivites on the 8th, I just want to say thank you again for a great season.  I only wish we could all stay together again next year, but, I also know that everyone needs to develop into the best player they can be and the only way to do that is to gain knowledge from new team mates.  So in the fall, when hockey starts again, take with you all the things the Coaches taught you, all the encouragement your family gave you, and most of all, all the great memories, teamwork and friendships you made this year.

I am truly very IMPRESSED with all of you.
